Being a wedding photographer is something that never crossed Tony Gambino's mind. And even when he picked up a camera, shooting weddings wasn't anything that ever interested him.
Six years later, Gambino couldn't be happier as he feels his career suits him perfectly.
"I felt like I had found my calling," Gambino said. "Weddings fit my personality perfectly. [It is] high energy, always good vibes, and they're constantly changing and evolving throughout the day, which keeps me creatively engaged. I love it!"
Gambino owns his own photography company, Tony Gambino Photography. The fruit of his labor which began when he made his first camera purchase 14 years ago. It was a vintage film camera, Gambino said, which was being displayed in his friend's living room. Gambino asked if he could borrow it, and the rest is history.
"Over the next few months, I probably ran 100 rolls of film through that thing and absolutely fell in love with creating images," Gambino said.
Living in Rio Rancho, N.M., Gambino officially made photography his career and hasn't looked back. He loves every minute of it, and hopes people realize just how much he's enjoying photographing weddings, which was happenstance to begin with, after another photographer friend of his in Albuquerque asked for his assistance. Gambino said it changed his world.
"I just want people to know that I'm really passionate about what I do, and my greatest hope is that you can really see that when you look through my portfolio," he said.
