Teresa Neptune Studio and Gallery Provides a Romantic Setting for Weddings and More

By Pamela Sosnowski

Much of Teresa Neptune's photography portfolio doesn't contain people as her subjects. Instead, Neptune travels the world capturing tranquil settings that are rapidly become more rare in a quick-paced, highly populated modern world that runs on technology. Relics from an old New Mexico railroad, the stark and desolate dunes of Colorado, and cacti set against a wide Arizona sky are just some of the acclaimed photography visitors will find at the Teresa Neptune Studio and Gallery in Santa Fe.

"My work is basically street photography even when the street becomes a trail or disappears altogether," Neptune said. "My joy is to capture fleeting relationships that exist for one moment and are gone forever".

Neptune grew up in Paris, which is where she first honed her photography skills armed with her father's Pentax camera and black-and-white Tri-X film. Her work is usually exhibited in Santa Fe and Chicago with permanent collections housed at The National Museum for Women in the Arts in Washington DC, the Historic Santa Fe Foundation, and other galleries. She is the recipient of several photography awards and her work has been reviewed and featured in many publications.

The studio and gallery is located in the historic Irene Von Horvath House, one of Santa Fe's oldest adobe structures stretching back over 200 hundred years old and hidden behind a restaurant named Geronimo on Canyon Road. In fact, Neptune says she's often heard people who have lived in the neighborhood for decades admit to her they no idea the home was there.

"It is truly an architectural hidden gem with tall beamed ceilings, wooden floors, a great room, and four kiva fireplaces," Neptune said. "It also has one of the largest private gardens on Canyon Road with tall shade trees, flagstone patios, a gazebo, and a large open space for gathering."

It's this romantic setting that makes Neptune's gallery suitable to rent for private parties and events. Over 700 square feet of indoor space is available for wedding receptions, showers, birthday parties, workshops, and more. Neptune's photography adorns the walls of the chic and warm space. Up to 60 guests can be accommodated indoors while the garden can comfortably hold 80 with the use of their 20 x 40-foot tent.

Several wedding packages are available, and Teresa Neptune Studio and Gallery can recommend several preferred caterers and vendors that can supply everything from food and music to chairs for an event. Menus are completely customized by clients. Clients are allowed to bring their own alcohol when they hire a licensed server.

"I am pleased to offer this beautiful, historic adobe to host private events and weddings," Neptune said. "For the past four years I have welcomed guests from all over the world to my gallery and studio to share the charming warmth it exudes and I'm happy to know that cherished memories are being created with each event."

Neptune's gallery is open by appointment only. To learn about the gallery and information about renting it for event space, visit TeresaNeptune.com and SantaFeWedding.com.
