Santa Fe, A City of Booming Potential

By Elisha Neubauer

When it comes to finding things to do in Santa Fe, you're in luck- there's more to do than you can ever imagine. With a rich history, eclectic community, and a bustling economy, the City of Santa Fe is only moving upward with each passing day.

If you're looking for some notable attractions, look no further. John Feins, Public Relations Manager for the City, has some pointers for you. "Well, my first answer is of course the Plaza downtown," explains Feins. "This historic park, at the end of the Santa Fe Trail, has been the heart of our community, both symbolically and literally, for more than 400 years."

The natural beauty of the area is another massive draw to the City. "Santa Fe is nestled in the heart of the Santa Fe National Forest and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Along with the best in outdoors we feature unbelievable fine art and culture, whether you're at the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum, one of our galleries on the world-famous Canyon Road, or enjoying our world of fine dining you benefit from a thousand years of cultures collaborating for a quality of life that is unmatched," Feins tells us.

In the last ten years, Santa Fe has grown exponentially, adding restaurants and businesses faster than you'd believe. "We continue to see Santa Fe growing in new and exciting ways," Feins tells us. He decided to highlight two major additions, as the rest equate to too many to mention.

Meow Wolf, which as he explains is a "Santa Fe-based artist collective, just launched a one-of-a-kind interactive art experience called 'The House of Eternal Return' that is smashing expectations and garnering worldwide attention, not to mention captivating the imaginations of everyone passing through." The other new addition to the Santa Fe community is the Outside Magazine Bike and Brew Festival. "It highlights Santa Fe's craft beer scene and our outdoor lifestyle and, in its third year, is only growing."

But while Santa Fe is growing on its own, the City is looking to increase efforts. "Looking at the bigger picture, we are investing in Santa Fe, in all the things that matter for long-term growth and sustainability for this community, both in terms of economic development and quality of life," Feins details. "We're building partnerships among stakeholders in education to ensure that every child has a chance at success." He goes on, telling us that Santa Fe boasts a booming economy, bigger than other cities of comparable size in the country.

"We've launched a startup accelerator, made strategic investments in a business accelerator and incubator, a creative makers space, and a startup community that has dozens of success stories in just the last few years," he states. "We've completely rebuilt one of the best parks systems in the nation, with hundreds of miles of trails and community green spaces in nearly every neighborhood. We brought gigabit speed broadband internet to Santa Fe, a development with the potential to unleash Santa Fe's potential."
