Lavish Hair Lounge Is Coloring the World of Its Clients

By Pamela Sosnowski

Vibrantly hued hair has been one of the latest beauty trends in recent years, with many women sporting non-traditional hair colors of a rainbow's spectrum. Lavish Hair Lounge of Albuquerque is specializing in this look, using high-quality color to achieve a client's wish and to also add their own creativity to a head of tresses.

"Our intention to differ from other salons comes with our desire to be creative," Desirre Escobedo, the salon's owner, said. "We are a color and shape focused salon, meaning we're inspired by non traditional coloring and cutting. While we are updated on current trends in natural color and style, we also have a very fashion forward thinking and avant-garde approach with some of our guests."

Lavish was named one of the best hair salons in Albuquerque by Expertise.com. Services include both men's and women's haircuts, single process coloring, full or partial highlights, and more. Stylists are available to give free consultations for color treatments. The salon also performs hair extensions, waxing, and eyelash extensions to make each client feel fabulous from head to toe.

The salon has a very diverse portfolio on its site and social media channels. Some of the looks that the stylists have achieved include grey hair, blonde hair tipped with a bright green dye, and hair where each half of the head is a different shade. For those that favor a more natural shade, the salon can achieve just about any blonde, brunette, or red haired look.

The salon favors an Italian brand of hi-fi hair color called BES which is made with plant liposomes such as Echinacea, ginseng, and burdock that deliver beautiful color while also being gentle to hair strands. It also delivers uniform color and can cover grey or white hair.

With so much changing in the world of hair, Escobedo and her team make it a point to receive continuing education to stay on top of hair trends and products. The salon is open Tuesday through Saturday and open on Sundays by appointment only. The salon is located in downtown Albuquerque next to the Old Town neighborhood and its collection of shops, restaurants, and hotels. The salon's website will soon offer online booking to make getting an appointment more convenient.

Escobedo and her stylists enjoy making each client feel empowered, and particularly enjoy getting to know their clients, particularly the ones that return to the salon time and again because it feels like family.

"What we enjoy most about our job is the personal connection we gain with each guest," she said. "It's more than just hair; it's a relationship. Your family, your ups and downs of life, your hobbies...we love getting to know about it all. Even more so, we love to make people feel confident, beautiful and inspired. If we can't make you feel that, we're not the right salon for you."
