High Desert Art & Frame Turns Their Passion for Their Work Into High Quality Service

By Elisha Neubauer

To the staff at High Desert Art & Frame, Art isn't just a passion, it's life. Teri Winfield found her way into the framing business by chance. When her son Stephen needed help at a small gallery and framing shop in Nob Hill, she jumped in with both feet. She immediately knew she'd found her calling.

It was mutually decided between Winfield and her husband, Bob, that if a space ever opened at the popular Glenwood Village Shopping Center, which was closer to their home, that they would open a full service framing shop.

As fate would have it, that's exactly what happened. With Bob and Teri Winfield at the helm, Stephen joined the family business shortly after, making it a fully functional, small family-owned business. High Desert Art & Frame has been in operation for nine years now, servicing their customer's art and framing needs in the Albuquerque area.

The family truly loves art and shares a belief that if something is so beloved to you that you want to enjoy viewing it every day that it requires the very best materials available. And, in their opinion, more than just requiring, and deserving, the highest quality materials, your art merits only the highest level of attention and TLC from professionals who care about art as much as you do.

It doesn't matter if your piece is an expensive, high end sample or merely something personal that holds no monetary value. The Winfields will take the best care of your piece, ensuring it is preserved and displayed in the finest manner possible. "We understand all too well the sentimental value of many of the items we frame," states Teri Winfield. "It doesn't have to be expensive to be important." At High Desert Art & Frame, every piece is treated as if it is their own.

Of course, they offer more than just framing services and each member of the family team has their own unique part to play. Teri Winfield is a Certified Personal Photo Organizer who specializes in family stories, old photos, and memorabilia. She's learned to hone her skills so that she can offer assistance to customers looking to sort or prioritize photo projects.

Bob Winfield has taken the marketing side to heart, creating strategic partnerships with local business owners in the area. When he's not out in the community, he dons the hat of Chief Commercial and Residential Art Installer. He's also a Certified Picture Framer and takes charge of the large format printing aspect of the business.

Stephen Gilliam is also a Certified Picture Framer who uses the shop's Computerized Mat Cutter with superior skill, duplicating logos, photos, clipart and words to incorporate into his mat designs. "Together we make a great team," says Teri Winfield. "We love what we do and we have fun working together."
