From Cleanup to Front Counter Sean Kehoe Does it All At Vivify Hot Yoga

By Elisha Neubauer

When it comes to yoga, Sean Kehoe knows a thing or two. Kehoe is the co-founder and owner of Vivify Hot Yoga, located in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Kehoe also humorously refers to himself as the cleanup guy and front desk dude.

While working tirelessly in every avenue of the studio, Kehoe has developed a better understanding of the effects and benefits of the practice on the everyday person. He sees the studio's clients in every aspect of the practice, from entering, to practicing, to wrapping up, to leaving. He sees the changes in their personality, their demeanor.

Being on so many platforms in the studio, Kehoe has a better outlook on what new and advanced students can take home from attending Vivify. For those who are new to the practice, Kehoe is able to provide some well-minded tips and thoughts of encouragement.

"First thing I remind everyone is to enjoy it," he said. "Be sure and go in open minded."

One of the biggest reasons he sees people struggle when attempting to start out is not going in with a clear mind of what to expect. Yoga is a practice, not a feat. It can take time to learn and develop the form, and can take just as much effort to retain it.

"I also remind them that yoga is all about you and your pace, not everyone else's, so don't be intimidated by anyone else in the room," Kehoe said. "Come in and relax, be sure and let everything go."

Yoga is a form that is able to be practiced by pretty much anyone. As it is a custom practice, an advanced student can practice on the mat next to a beginner. Age, sex, physical form, and skill sets do not determine whether or not someone can partake in this form of physical and mental exercise. Yoga can be adapted for anyone's needs and abilities.

"Vivify was born out of a pure love for what yoga has proven to do for not only myself but my wife, family, many friends and the community as a whole," Kehoe said. "We wanted to build a business that provides a positive atmosphere, one conducive to growth, friendship and community."
