CBD Boutique's Products Provide Holistic Healing Through Hemp

By Pamela Sosnowski

Marijuana was at the forefront of this election year, with three more states voting to legalize its use in some form. But for those that live in a state where marijuana usage is illegal or don't wish to take a substance that makes them high, hemp offers an ideal alternative.

"Hemp is quite interesting," says Gina Lucero, a registered nurse that founded the CBD Boutique of Albuquerque (alongside her Partners Alex Lucero, Billy Giron and Rodrigo Ramirez). "It is in the same cannabis family as marijuana and produces special compounds know as cannabinoids that help your entire body. There is one key distinction between hemp and marijuana, and that is hemp is bred to not produce the psychoactive compound THC, so its extracts can provide all of the major benefits to mental and physical health without incurring a psychoactive high. In fact, hemp extracts are often used with great success for anxiety and pain issues over marijuana due to the fact that there is no high associated with them so a person does not need to worry about consuming too much and being too inebriated throughout the day."

Lucero's online and retail storefront shop sells several edible products containing hemp extracts including chocolate, candy, oral tinctures, honey, chewing gum and more, bath and body products that are applied to the skin, and vaping products for those that wish to inhale hemp. She even sells dog treats made with hemp.

Every product is produced using high quality hemp that is grown in the USA. All of the products meet and exceed the U.S. Hemp Farming Bill, containing no more than 0.3% THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol.) Hemp extract is legal in all 50 states and is non-psychoactive.

"We offer supplements that contain whole plant hemp extracts that are produced in the U.S.," says Lucero. "We are not a medical dispensary, so we do not carry any type of cannabis flowers; just products that contain extracts." Lucero and her Partners handpick all of the products themselves, stocking ones that customers have determined they like the most.

Although they do not sell marijuana, Lucero often showcases her newest products at cannabis trade shows and expos. Her shop is also a main sponsor of Grow For Vets New Mexico, a non-profit that provides medical cannabis to veterans as an alternative to traditional prescription medicine. Veteran members receive discounts at dispensaries, grow shops, and other businesses in all Grow For Vets states.

The CBD Boutique is open Monday through Saturday from 10 AM to 6 PM, and items may be ordered online at www./
